Cloud computing has been changing trends in every field recently. It takes a new step towards modernizing healthcare services. To name a few advances IBM has already tapped into the healthcare field under the “Smarter Planet” branding. Not only IBM, various other companies like Google, Microsoft have already taken a dip into the healthcare industry.

Emerging Indian markets have a lot of scope for new technologies. However, the small scale shops and other markets don’t have enough resources to buy and use the softwares available.

Xerox has set-up an “Innovation Hub” in Chennai and is working to provide the software to these businesses as a low-cost document service through a cloud computing mode.

Open source is entering into a mature phase. So mature that now we need to understand between different flavors of open source.
There are many flavors of open source. Some vendors push “professional” open source, some “commercial”, some call it “business hardened” and offcourse we have Microsoft’s shared source. Offcourse we are not getting away from the conventional proprietary license products. Diversity is good and market wins in the end. So we are going to celebrate this diversity.
